Rolex Revises Warranty Cards as Counterfeits Persist

April 28, 2026

As Rolex models continue to take the top spots among the most faked watches seized while entering the United States, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the brand is updating the design of its 2026 warranty cards. The new cards are now reaching official retailers.

New Rolex pieces will come with a card that moves away from the glossy, glass-like finish of the 2020-era version toward a wood-grain aesthetic that is more difficult to copy. Fine lines are now embedded in the date field, designed to prevent tampering and make it harder for preowned sellers to erase and rewrite warranty dates. The accompanying white hang tag has been replaced by a green version with a similar wood effect, alongside an updated chronometer “Green Seal” tag.

As with incremental changes, the updated design also gives retailers a quick visual cue to approximate the piece production era.
