Rolex has added KakaoTalk to its official social media channels, expanding its presence in Asia just months after joining Japan’s biggest messaging app, LINE, as first reported by Coronet.

The South Korean messaging app is used not only for everyday communication but also for shopping and payments. The social media addition — after YouTube, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, Weibo, WeChat, Douyin and LINE — is the latest sign of Rolex's commitment to the South Korean market.

Still, it remains unclear how Rolex chooses which social networks to join. For example, in the U.S., the brand remains notably absent from platforms like TikTok, Snapchat and Reddit, a sign Rolex does discriminate when it comes to audience demographics on social media. Other brands, including Patek Philippe, also maintain a curated social media presence, choosing established channels rather trying to reach consumers on every network.
