When it comes to a successful strategy and strong brand identity, AET Remould are head and shoulders above everybody else in the timepiece modification niche. The luxury watch industry itself is very unique because there are so many brands with history behind them; the main pain point is translating this rich history into a message that will resonate with the young generation or those that seek a bit more flair for the wrist. This is exactly where AET Remould thrives, in modifying watch models produced by the world's biggest brands, resulting in timepieces that carry each brand's history intertwined with complex and unique stories from around the world.
Owning a luxury timepiece has long been seen as a sign of a person’s success, associated with status and personal achievements. Consumers who gravitate towards luxury timepieces are perceived to have a fine eye for craftsmanship and design. When looking for timepieces that go beyond the ordinary, these consumers incline towards those made with an impeccable attention to detail, rare materials, and that are limited edition – all of which AET Remould has mastered seamlessly. Thanks to their research, development, and aesthetic ingenuity, watches have now become more than a simple timekeeper and evolved into avant-garde art on the wrist.
One of the things that sets AET Remould apart is their dedicated study of innovative materials with the use of sapphire and ceramics, both of which are difficult materials to process. Because of its excellent wear resistance, ceramic has become a popular material in watchmaking, yet is difficult to achieve properly without precise design and refined polishing. AET Remould masters the most advanced ceramic processing technology to guarantee a flawless finish of their ceramic watch modifications, often recreating entire watch cases and ceramic link bracelets in their entirety. The result is light and easy to wear providing a pure aesthetic experience.
AET Remould brings to a saturated market, materials that make a difference. The introduction of sapphire into watchmaking has been groundbreaking in revolutionizing the decorative nature of watches. Much like ceramic, sapphire proves to be a complex material to work with, classified as one of the hardest materials on earth, with a MOHS grade of 9.0, second only to diamonds. It is hard, but it is also easy to crack - which can create problems in manufacturing and requires only the most skillful techniques to cut, polish, and process in general. Using the design concept ‘Crystal Architecture’ AET Remould shows the artistic sense of sapphire in a more beautiful posture, creating curved cases and edges which are painstakingly difficult to achieve. It takes thousands of hours of processing to show the flawless brilliance of a crystal case, and the 30% yield rate makes it even more precious.
Another distinctive element of AET Remould's modifications is their design philosophy to pursue powerful aesthetics. This includes applying the most iconic elements to their watches – whether in the materials or the artful designs. As a tribute to great artists and iconic locations, AET adds a design flair with meaningful colorway, inspired graphics, and licensed artworks, including an official license to launch the Picasso Collection which allows classic art and spirits to be etched into timeless memory. AET Remould’s interpretation of the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph Picasso Collection features 16 unique watch modifications each with different Picasso artworks intricately incorporated into each watch face.
The pièce de résistance of the 2022 collection lies in the Loong model, built upon the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in a transparent sapphire casing and bracelet and limited to just 3 pieces. Incorporating the symbol of nobility, righteousness, and respectfulness, an oriental carving master was invited to craft the three-dimensional 18k white gold Loong, adding a ruby to the eye to create a dazzling totem. The rotor was transformed by AET designers, featuring a "Loong" character written by a master of Chinese calligraphy. To finish the front-facing side, an emerald-studded bezel and hour markers further enhance the brilliance of the timepiece. Beyond the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, AET has also put its artistic touch on countless Richard Mille timepiece models, and more recently the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore – proving their expertise in craftsmanship knows no bounds.
